Huntress

Playstyle: Balanced · Complexity: 5/6 · Season 2

Who is this character?

A beast master: Nyra tanks and amplifies – while the tiger lives, everything hits +2.

How to play Huntress

If after roll 1 5× Tiger for Jungle Fury! are reachable. Keep 5× Tiger and reroll all dice not needed, aiming at Jungle Fury! (5 dice). If fewer than 5 matching dice remain after roll 1, switch to Feral. Jungle Fury! deals a documented 12 damage and applies Bleed/Nyra's Bond, so the 5 committed dice stay on the table.

Mid game: Combine Onslaught / Predatory Advance to keep Bleed up and stabilize health.

Late game: Look for Feral / Jungle Fury! for saber-tooth burst, keep Nyra Active as long as possible.

If after roll 1 4× Tiger for Feral are reachable. Keep 4× Tiger and reroll all dice not needed, aiming at Feral (4 dice). If fewer than 4 matching dice remain after roll 1, switch to Jungle Fury!. Feral deals a documented 5 damage and bypasses the defence roll, so the 4 committed dice stay on the table.

Onslaught with a large straight sets 2 bleeds at once – together they tick ~1.3 per upkeep on average.

Buying rerolls down to 1 Nyra health and losing her to chip damage – without her you lose the +2 and all defense.

Strengths

  • +2 on EVERY attack while Nyra is active
  • Nyra (5–7 health) soaks entire hits for you
  • 1 damage to Nyra = 1 reroll per attack phase

Weaknesses

  • Without Nyra you are naked: Maternal Bond prevents 0
  • Small base numbers (Animalistic 3–5) – the value is in the +2 and bleed

Key attacks

  • Animalistic
    Standard route

Reliable damage route for turns without special setup.

Take it as soon as 3× 🗡 Spear is mostly on the table after roll 1 (84% across all three rolls): safe damage beats rerolling working dice for a harder route.

    3× 🗡 Spear · 3 damage

  • Savage
    Standard route

Reliable damage route for turns without special setup.

Take it as soon as 3× 🐾 Claw + 1× 🐯 Saber Tooth is mostly on the table after roll 1 (60% across all three rolls): safe damage beats rerolling working dice for a harder route.

    3× 🐾 Claw + 1× 🐯 Saber Tooth · about 5 damage · bleed

  • Resuscitate
    Healing

Healing instead of damage this turn.

Only take it once you have taken enough damage for the healing to land in full – at full health the turn is wasted.

    2× 🌀 Bonded Soul · healing: 3 health

  • Feral Instincts
    Standard route

Reliable damage route for turns without special setup.

Take it as soon as 3× 🗡 Spear + 1× 🌀 Bonded Soul is mostly on the table after roll 1 (60% across all three rolls): safe damage beats rerolling working dice for a harder route.

    3× 🗡 Spear + 1× 🌀 Bonded Soul · 2 damage

  • Onslaught
    Control

Control route: damage plus an effect against the opponent's next turn.

Worth it when the opponent is hunting their strong route next turn (59% across all three rolls): the effect beats a few extra damage points there.

    Small straight (4 in a row) · 4 damage · bleed

  • Feral
    Healing

Healing instead of damage this turn.

Only take it once you have taken enough damage for the healing to land in full – at full health the turn is wasted.

    4× 🐯 Saber Tooth · 5 damage · healing: 1 health

  • Predatory Advance
    Healing

Healing instead of damage this turn.

Only take it once you have taken enough damage for the healing to land in full – at full health the turn is wasted.

    2× 🗡 Spear + 2× 🐾 Claw + 1× 🌀 Bonded Soul · 5 damage · healing: 1 health

  • Jungle Fury!
    Finisher

Ultimate: the board's highest damage value with the hardest requirement.

Do not force 5× 🐯 Saber Tooth (1% across all three rolls): only when the requirement is reachable after roll 1 is giving up the safe route worth it.

    5× 🐯 Saber Tooth · 12 damage · bleed

Key statuses & resources

  • Nyra: A companion with her own dial (start 5, max 7). Active: +2 on your attacks, she may soak entire hits for you (not ultimates), and 1 damage to her buys 1 reroll. Heal her via Resuscitate +3, Feral +1, Predatory Advance +1, Maternal Bond 1 per bond, Nyra's Bond 2. Let Nyra soak hits of 5+ when you are under pressure – but never drop her below 2 health without healing in reach.
  • Nyra's Bond: Max 1 token: split incoming attack damage freely between you and Nyra, or heal Nyra by 2 at any time. Resuscitate, Feral Instincts, the Savage bonus die, ultimate. The split is gold against 7+ hits: Nyra takes the lion's share, you stay in business.
  • Bleed: negative, triggered by Savage (conditionally), Onslaught and Jungle Fury!.
  • Do not keep spending Nyra's HP on rerolls once it is low (near 0 of max 7), or the +2 bonus is lost.
